Jetstar offers $89 flights from Busselton to Melbourne as new service launched

Dirt cheap flights from Busselton to Melbourne will be up for grabs on Wednesday morning, as Jetstar launches its long-awaited new service.

Jetstar’s 12-hour sale, which runs from 10am to 10pm Wednesday (unless sold out prior), will see one-way tickets on offer for $89.

The first packed out service, Jetstar flight JQ900, is expected touch down in Busselton from Melbourne at 11.40am Wednesday morning — with the return flight set to take off one hour later.

Jetstar Group chief executive Gareth Evans said it was great to finally launch the much-anticipated route.

“We are excited to launch our direct flights between Melbourne and Busselton with these services proving to be very popular with Melbournians keen to explore everything the Margaret River region has to offer,” Mr Evans said.

“We continue to see strong demand for domestic travel and for our new Busselton service, with our customers telling us they’re keen to explore places they’ve never been to before.

“This is the 22nd domestic destination in our network and we’re pleased to help more people travel for less, boost local jobs and support the economies of the communities we fly to.”

Premier Mark McGowan said it was a momentous day for Busselton and the region.

“We can expect the South West to be even more attractive as a holiday destination.”

City of Busselton Mayor Grant Henley said he was “thankful” Jetstar had the tenacity and commitment to this new route.

“The City is absolutely delighted that today’s inaugural flights are now a reality and we are very excited for what’s to come.”

Jetstar flights from Busselton to Melbourne will be available three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
